City of Sydney has released the plans of a new Aldi store to be located at The Cannery, 1/85–113 Dunning Ave Rosebery.

The new Aldi Corner Store on Dunning Ave Rosebery

Aldi has targeted Rosebery to launch its new Corner Store brand which will be aimed at weekly shoppers who are more like to grab & go, who also don’t mind paying a little more for the fast convenience. Much like the Woolworths Metro & Coles Local brands.

This 997m2 Aldi Corner Store will have a coffee shop at the entrance. Fridges with ready to go items like mueslis, yogurts, cheese's, sushi, sandwiches & salads with fresh bread supplied by Sonoma daily. Fresh produce & liquor will also be available.

Sadly, the City of Sydney development application shows that Koskella will be making way for the Aldi Corner Store. Three Blue Ducks stays.

The proposal does not seek to provide any additional parking spots at The Cannery as it will use the already available spots located next to Archie Rose & Mr & Mrs Jones.

A new thoroughfare will be built inside the Cannery located near Whole Foods Market & a new entry will be located on Dunning Ave.

Opening Times: 6am to 10pm Monday to Saturday & 7am to 9pm on Sundays.

As for choice goes, this is an improvement to the area which will up the competitiveness of supermarkets in the area. Only issue is - parking! We also hope that Aldi gives back to the local community, much like other shops & cafe’s do.

The development application is currently on display. Give your feedback by emailing dasubmissions@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au with “Ref DA: D/2021/797, 85–113 Dunning Avenue ROSEBERY NSW 2018” in the subject line.
